Tomorrow the grandchildren arrive for a few days or possibly a week, don’t know yet. I do know however I won’t be crocheting squares or flowers for them; a 19th century skill that is beyond me. I can’t knit either!

I am not bad though at telling a yarn; the full yarn about where I found these granny squares and other shapes can be found in a Portuguese post of mine – Crochet Guerillas. I am also quite good at hosting Squares 😉 and there’s still plenty of time to join in with this month’s Squares. The theme is ‘‘Simply Red‘ and as always the only rule is that your main photograph must be square.
It always makes me smile – yarn-bombing. I never could get to grips with crochet, though admit to being a knitter.

Never could crochet, but I was quite a good knitter, especially baby jackets. I stopped when the children got so big it took me far too long. How old are your grandchildren? You are a very young granny!

Well, I’m a non-knitting, non-Granny! But love the square… Here’s mine for today: https://suejudd.com/2025/07/22/red-rose-and-other/

What you lack in the craft department you make up for with your hostess skills. You’re a busy bee these days, Becky, but it’s the best way. Have a lovely time with them. I used to be able to do both, but I was never up to yarn bombing standard xx

Thanks Jo, and you are way ahead of me to be able to do any at all!

This is a very superior Granny Square! This granny can’t knit and has no intention of learning, as she knows her limitations. She’ll stick to Sunset Gazing. Doubtless this is your umpteenth sunset of the challenge … https://margaret21.com/2025/07/22/sunset-in-spain/

Enjoy! No crocheting for me, not my cup of tea. 🙂 But my daughters partner is really good at it and make such beautiful things.

I love finding yarn bombing! It’s so much fun. And I love crocheting and knitting too, and my grandchildren like wearing their handmade jumpers and beanies! Have fun with yours – they’re such a blessing.

Yes, although I wonder how old they’ll be before they don’t want to wear them any more. I’ll send you a couple of photos on Whatsapp.

oh do 😀 and I am sure your designs change as they age so they’ll never want to stop wearing them
