Every day I saw at least one ship and birdlife, and one morning I saw a pod of whales. At this moment though it was just the sun dancing on the waves.

Very nice and much drier than other days!

You did well with the weather. Isn’t it funny how you feel like you’re the only people in the world and then you see another ship. Seeing wildlife is exciting. We spent a lot of time on deck during our Antarctic trip looking for wildlife.

so exciting to see another one especially as I had been told I wouldn’t see any mid atlantic

Whale spotting sounds fun, storms not so much. I’m waiting for the new Scillonian before making that crossing to the Isles of Scilly. The current one is not known as ‘the sick bucket’ for nothing.

ooh now that would be a lovely trip to make by sea, but wise to wait for a new ship!

So good to spot whales Becky 🐳🐋🐳😀 Love the shimmer on the water. It was probably a melted iceberg 😂😂
Sorry I had to 😁

My sister is crossing the Atlantic on Queen Mary 2 at the end of August. The last real ocean liner. Wish I was going too.

oh my goodness we might be crossing at same time then, as I return on her on 27th August

She is going from New York at the beginning of September so maybe the one after.

Whale spotting sounds exciting enough! Icebergs uncalled for …

So many people have mentioned icebergs, didn’t even cross my mind!

As long as no storms brewing I would be happy with that view of the sea! I now avoid long sea crossings after a particularly bad Bay of Biscay!

I loved the changes, and apparently the trick for long sea crossings is to only travel on ships built for deep water. All but one of the current passenger ships are built for shallow water hence the challenges in storms!

very true – but try it in this ship, think you’d notice a huge difference

We did have one day of high wind when the upper decks were sealed off, but there was no noticing any effects inside.

I would have quite fancied a small storm too – enough for a bit of drama, not so much it would make me ill!

It’s a very soothing shot, though I’d have been tempted to photoshop an iceberg in there!

what is it with icebergs . . .my cousin wouldn’t stop talking about them either!!

If you sit through four movie hours of the Titanic sinking, icebergs get lodged in the brain!
