Today’s Squares are in memory of Dad as today is Mum and Dad’s wedding anniversary. Dad was brilliant at looking at the bright side of life, and he had the most gorgeous smile. Not sure though what he thought of Monty Python’s ‘Always Look on the Bright Side of Life‘ and it is Easter so maybe I won’t actually embed the video!
If you are curious as to my choice of photographs, well last year I shared their gorgeous wedding photograph as well as a video of Dad before they got married, but this year I thought I’d return to a beauty spot that will forever remind us of him.
It is a hill which he loved to walk, and for 20ish years following his retirement the whole family and many of their friends were regularly taken here for a walk. It also happens to be where his ashes are scattered. The hill is called Melbury Hill, and it can be found on the outskirts of Shaftesbury in Dorset.

I can see why he loved walking there. 🙂 Sounds like you have lots of wonderful memories of him, which is a blessing. Happy Easter!

Beautiful place. I can see why he enjoyed walking there. A favorite place for me is Sedona, Arizona and its red rock cliffs and peaceful streams. Problem is I live in Texas.

No he has taken her back to hers, created a support bubble. So they are walking on the Ridgeway – we using to live on it, and he now lives close by to another part

I may be a day late with mine having completely blanked on the date yesterday. It was taken around midnight so either late on 3rd April or early on 4th April 1982.

The embarrassing thing is that I did a Facebook post about it and still managed to blank on it for April Squares.
