Reflecting on taking part in the Shadow of Squares?
Well it is totally up to you how you interpret the shadowy theme, how often you square and whether you pingback via your post or add your link with a comment on one of my daily square posts. Just remember there must be square images in your post and the tag is NovemberShadows.
And for those that are pondering, my Monday Portrait is a male Common Merganser on Lake Tahoe.

Yay, Lake Tahoe! Been a minute for me. Lovely and mysterious shot of the two-headed duck!

love that it is one of your favourite places too

Like the double reflection, too. It is very strange however that only the head of the duck is reflected twice and not the whole body.
This is mine for today

exactly, that’s what confuses me too!

That double duck photo is really cool! No telling how it showed like that, but I like it. 🙂

Pretty bird and a lovely image. Agree with Sarah on the extra head! Here’s mine today: https://grahamsisland.com/2025/11/03/monday-portrait-selfie/

yes think you both must be right. Found it intriguing how the beak has changed colour on the extra one

I don’t think that’s the beak. I think the second ‘head’ is a bit of head and a bit of body. It just looks like another head!

that’s just where I got to late last night!

Now that is a conundrum: a reflection of a reflection does not compute.

it really doesn’t does it – have a reflection of a shadow coming up in a week or so. More conundrums to puzzle over!

Those birds are so attractive and you got a bonus shadow.

Interesting indeed. And a very handsome bird in its own right!

That’s a very well-timed shot, though to me it’s more a reflection than a shadow? Actually two reflections – I think the second head is caused by a ripple in the water also reflecting him! It certainly makes you look twice – very clever 🙂
I’m double-dipping with the Lens Artists theme this week, as shadows are certainly ephemeral: https://www.toonsarah-travels.blog/gallery-fleeting-shadows/
