As long as your main photograph is square other shapes are allowed, and even encouraged!

So relax over our final few days of ‘Simply Red‘ Squares, and if colour is not your thing why not square with some red idioms such as;
- A red rag to a bull – means provocation but for squares quite a few of you have been sharing some great warning signs
- As red as a beetroot – means embarrassed but beetroot itself or chard is also allowed
- Paint the town red– means having a very good time and one of you has shared a great square of a city being painted red
- Red herring – something that is deliberately misleading and a few of us have been doing that
- Red letter day– is a memorable day or experience, and I just love the stories and letters you have all been sharing
- Roll out the red carpet – or why not give your blog the red carpet treatment in these final few days by sharing your favourite images and perhaps a little bit of glamour
Speaking truth via signs. 😁. I have a sweet square today and, because it’s virtual, no calories are involved.

various ideas in head at the moment, I suspect final decision will depend on what I stumble across on my 19 days aboard the QM2 in August

19 days? That’s not a quick crossing over to New York.

hope so – feeling a bit nervous about the cruise part of the journey but am sure I will fall in love with the fjords

They are stunning. I worked in a hotel in Norway that used to have cruise ships bus passengers up for a smorgasbord lunch. Usually American tourists.

Sometimes a photo just can’t be squared but it needs to be there to complete the story. My post today is the perfect example. I like the message on these big red signs.

well you might be but you also find amazing music to accompany your squares. My foot is tapping away to Van Morrison this morning

Oh, it’s too early to Be The Change! And I guess YOU need peace and quiet for a bit! Here’s mine today. You’ll recognise a couple of things: https://margaret21.com/2025/07/29/when-is-a-phone-box-not-a-phone-box/

It’s a good message. If I could get the brain to work this morning, I’d think of a good response. Is the household quiet again now? xx

And are you free from lurgy?

I think so – did have a touch of a sore throat yesterday but rested as much as I could in between all the tidying, laundry and cleaning and think I might have persuaded it to go away
