Another piece of art from Wynwood Walls in Miami, I really must write a full post on that extraordinary place. Today though I am simply sharing indoor work from one of my favourite Portuguese street artists – Bordalo II. I first fell in love with his Trash Animals in the Algarve, and then again in Porto. So for a tantalising moment (before I could read the price tag) I thought ooh I can purchase his work.

The theme for July squares is ‘‘Simply Red‘ and the one rule is that your main photograph must be square. If colour is not your thing, then don’t worry why not play around with some red idioms such as;
- A red rag to a bull
- As red as a beetroot
- Paint the town red
- Red herring
- Red letter day
- Roll out the red carpet

Squares is a daily challenge, so your photographs can be from the archives or brand new. If daily is too difficult, then feel free to post every other day, weekly or even just once this month. Don’t forget though to keep your photo square, and to pingback with #SimplyRed!
What colourful artwork.

Ah yes, I enjoy his work too. These are fun pieces, with his serious message behind.
I’ve gone red at night today: https://travelwithintent.com/2025/07/09/london-soho-red-at-night/

What fun these are … if not exactly relaxing. You’re sharing the squaring today, with a whole heap of monochromes. Hope that’s ok … https://margaret21.com/2025/07/09/i-spy-with-my-little-eye/

How amazing that all that discarded plastic can be arranged to make such an instantly recognisable shape. I had to search for the red eye. Great photo!
