Last year in Kent, in the seventh month (according to the Roman calendar) I stumbled across some history on a cliff top which I have been wanting to share with you ever since.

And finally this month as I seek my #SevenForSeptember I have a great reason to share it. There’s even a seven in the name of his squadron.
You may recall that last September it caused me huge distress to even pick up my camera let alone use it, but fortunately now I am now able to use a camera again. Although this month I do not have my usual camera with me in the USA. That one is playing up so I am exploring the US with Robert’s camera. A challenge to start using a different camera but another way to keep him with me. I am missing him so much on this trip; especially the daily planning and reflection, his smile and his reassuring presence on the challenging days. Making new memories without him is hard, but I am enjoying my travels and for the next four days I am meeting up with first friends and then family so will have plenty of opportunities to talk about both him and my trip. I am also thanks to my aphantasia travelling with a couple of framed pictures of him, and this will make you smile – they are square frames!
The whole post made me smile, Becky. I’m so glad you’re in a much better place this year. We learn so much from other bloggers – your discovery of aphantasia could be shared with my daughter in law, who now has some answers. By hosting a challenge, you and others give the rest of us a focus through which we might learn something new. Thank you so much and it’s great to have you back in this space, even while you travel.

So important to remember those who paved our way to freedom. It’s also important and necessary to remember our own and I am glad you thought to travel with a square photo of Robert.

I agree so important, and thank you. It helps me so much having the pictures 🙂

I like that memorial, a great idea. Enjoy your time with friends and family, creating new memories to mingle with the old. And good luck with the new/old camera. Always tricky getting used to something like that. Here’s mine today: https://grahamsisland.com/2024/09/24/the-numbers-game-40/

I’m so glad you’re making new memories over there and that Robert is with you in several tangible ways 🤗 I like that memorial – we’ve been to Reculver but I don’t remember seeing it there.
Here’s my final flurry of squares, and of sevens: https://www.toonsarah-travels.blog/gallery-seven-times-seven/

thank you,
it is some distance from Reculver so you’d probably only see it if you walked along the cliff top from Herne Bay. Enjoy your Californian adventures and look out for me!

north California – currently in Sacramento area and then head east to Tahoe on Friday where I will be for 10 days. Then head north west to Portland. How about you?

It’s possible we might overlap in Tahoe, but we’ll only be there one night. What part are you staying in?

ooh that’s a brief stop at the lake. Be prepared for bad traffic on the highways as might affect your journey times.
I will be on the Californian side near Tahoe City

Thanks for the heads-up. Yes, a brief stop – it’s that sort of a trip! We should have an afternoon to see a little bit, then have a hotel reservation in South Tahoe. It would be fun if we were to bump into you, but I think planning to meet up would be best left to when we’re both in the UK 😀
