Such a simple sentence but at times in life you might just find it a life saver. I certainly did two years ago when life turned upside down, and still there have been days when to move forward feels nigh on impossible. Slowly though you learn to take one step at a time, and occasionally it can feel great.

Other weeks, like this week, it might feel more like a lean forward than a move forward, but that’s okay too.

We were in Brussels for Robert’s 65th Birthday, and hadn’t planned our visit at all. Not like us to arrive in a new city with no idea of what we were going to do or see. However on this occasion we had done so much before from going to the paralympics to a Birthday meal with family in London to organising our Eurostar travel, we had kind of forgotten Brussels was our final destination. I still remember our joy when we stepped around a street corner and found ourselves stumbling upon this procession.
That looks like fun! Hope your forward momentum picks up again soon x

Although it seems a bit off-topic, I think I could stretch the following post subject , to say that one is preparing to move forward.

Oh, I love this cheery post: with its reminders that even when life is tough, there’s often something around to bring a smile to the face. Here’s mine today: https://margaret21.com/2024/05/10/renewal-a-walk-on-the-beach/

What a cool surprise. Sometimes, traveling unplanned like that allows for interesting things or places to unfold. Sorry it’s been a tough week but I am glad you have been able to find time and strength to connect with us all here. Thanks again for hosting.

It looks a lot of fun. I don’t recollect seeing any Belgian celebrations over at Denzil’s place so this is a lovely surprise, and a happy memory for you.
Sad this week has been a hard one for you, but at least you now know that you can still move forward. Hugs, darlin xx

What fun to find this parade happening - one of the joys of travel is coming across the unexpected.

Exactly! Given the crowds and how large the parade was, it was amazing we didn’t realise it was happening earlier.

It really was. It was part of a comic conference – just loved how the city just threw itself into it
