Today’s the day I make the announcement. I really hope you are going to like this next theme, it aims to celebrate four years of squares. I thought I’d shared a gallery of sixteen squares to get you in the mood.

Did you recognise them? They are all first squares from the past four years. You see October is going to be a month of Past Squares. A month to share memories, personal favourites, leftover squares and also have fun with themes you have always wanted to try. Yup this means that you can do all or any of the following;

  • Re-post a previous square post which at the time didn’t get the attention it deserved
  • Share one or more leftover squares from a previous theme that you loved
  • Share a new photograph that would have been perfect for a previous theme
  • Or if you have not been squaring for very long why not pick a theme you missed and share thirty one squares of that theme
  • Alternatively have fun with the word ‘past’ by sharing squares of history and heritage, and that includes past holidays!

I am so looking forward to celebrating the past four years with you, and can’t wait to see what you decide to do. The only thing you need to remember is that whatever option(s) you decide to go with your photographs must be square – that’s four equal sides!

  5. What a fabulous idea, Becky. I’m so glad you ran with this, and I can’t believe it’s been four years. Even though I missed the beginning, I love squares and love being one of your squares – there really is something special, exceptional even, about being (a) Square these days. 🟩🟥🟧🟪⬛️⬜️🟦

  7. Should be interesting, although I’m trying not to think about October or even September yet because it seems as if this year has sped by much too quickly. Hope all’s well with you during your “break.” I certainly enjoyed mine!

  12. Cunning plan. I will have a look at which squares didn’t get much of a viewing and maybe mix up with some new ones. Mine come from all three blogs so it could be challenging!

      1. I was wondering if this is going to be your last square challenge as it seems like a really good way to bring it to a closure. I know how much you love the squares and how popular it is, but it’s also a heck of a lot of work and you are a busy lady. Time to call time? 🤔

        2. I have come up with a couple of ways. I have a monthly squares category for posts and the other option is that I add sq to the end of the file name of my monthly squares edits.

  15. Hmm. My first thought is that I will try and enter a couple of squares for all the themes I haven’t been part of, since relatively speaking, I’m a newbie.

  16. Looks like you’re giving us a relaxing October, Becky – exactly what you’ll need, I’m sure. On a WordPress side, galleries are driving me potty. Mine have stopped working completely and I see yours has lost its squareness on mobile. Once I’ve got the energy I’ll be chatting with a happiness engineer.

  17. I have Barbara Streisand playing in my head. Memories, may be beautiful and yet…. 🤗💕 Sounds like a good time will be had by all, Becky, and you have to get this out there before September starts. Hope you’re all organised for that now and that it goes like clockwork 💕💕

  20. Love the theme for October! I think that for me it will be a mix of leftover squares and photos that would have fitted themes from before I joined the fabulous squarerers. 🙂
