I’ve been wanting to share a support for a few days now to celebrate how fabulous and brilliant you all are. Squares is great because of you, and I’m so appreciative of your support. So a huge thank you. And here’s my post in celebrating support – a wing strut brace high above the mountains on New Zealand’s South Island.
I almost cannot believe that today is the penultimate day of 2021’s January Squares. It has been a challenging month at times, but the squares, I hope, has offered optimism, joy and a sense of community. I am going to miss it. However we will be back in April and we still have more than 24 hours left of this month, so still plenty of time to share a square or two interpreting this month’s theme of UP.
Beautiful shots! Here’s mine. https://underapileofphotos.wordpress.com/2021/01/30/silly-pup/

The top picture from the plane reminds me of our Alaskan cruise several years ago. We took a float plane back to a quiet lake to land for a while. Utter quiet and peaceful. Such an awesome State to visit. On the way we flew over a mamma bear and two cubs, and a couple of moose.

An interesting Cardinal of many colors.
Flying over your country looks grand. I’ve always love little airplanes because you can really see things from it. None of my friends owns a plane anymore. They all gave up flying or just couldn’t afford it.

Unfortunately I don’t live in NZ, I would love to though!

Those mountains are absolutely stunning. We hope to make it there one day to see them for ourselves.

There is something so enticing about the ‘land of the long white cloud’. I can hardly wait to go there again myself.

it is a wonderful country. When were you there?

Way back in 2005, in the middle of winter to go skiing (because doing so was cheaper than going skiing here).

It was on the way there – the return journey a tad more daunting has we had a storm chasing us!

That underwing shot is stunning, Becky. I’m sorry my camels were being unruly. After running a lacklustre race they decided to post themselves before I was ready. I think they’re under control now:

Camels are so superior to us not surprised they took control!

I’ve always wanted to ride one, but the one time I contacted a place where you could the camels had all gone on holiday to Sydney!!!

Ha! That’s so funny. (Sorry to laugh at a serious life-long ambition thwarted by holidaying camels).

Just so long as it was far enough above!

At one point I did say to myself ‘well if we crash at least I won’t know about it with that terrain beneath us’!
