Azure Winged Magpie

How you getting on with March Squares? Do hope you are having fun with this month’s theme of #SpikySquares

This Azure Winged Magpie, an Iberian native, caught my eye the other week in the Algarvian hills because there are so many spikes. The jagged roof edge, the pointy tail shadow, the sharp beak and that spiky back toe!

  1. Very handsome! 🙂 🙂 Not too promising out there! I’m trying to decide whether to get dressed or if our walk will be called off. Better have brekkie and see 🙂 Loulé yesterday was enormous fun. They actually started the parade without floats as it was still drizzly, but then they brought them out and the place went wild! You’ll still enjoy Moncarapacho. Safe journey home tomorrow!

    1. Brekkie first sounds a sensible plan! The hills have disappeared in cloud, but hopefully Alcoutim will be sunny and bright for you! At least it’s not cold 😊

      1. A bit of a mix but the red plastic only came out for a very brief spell. 🙂 🙂 The cistus are stunning! Even with the grey skies. And the company was wonderful. Hope you enjoyed party time in M. Off to make pancakes soon 🙂
