Well the lawn at Osborne House was certainly not in the pink in June, and I do not recall being tickled pink when I took it, however there is definitely pink in the shot.

I wonder if Queen Victoria liked pink?!

Phew that little bit of pink means I can include this rather lovely view in this month’s Square in September!

The theme for squares this month is ‘In the Pink‘ and the one rule as always is that your main photograph must be square. After that the world is your oyster, or should I say flamingo?! To help you get started here are some ideas you might want to consider;

  1. In the Pink’ – means perfect condition or in good health, so that could be human or not!
  2. Tickled Pink‘ – means delighted, so I’m thinking happy, fun and of course delighted. That could be you or the subject of your photograph.
  3. Pink – you can of course simply share anything that is coloured pink
  4. There is an extra challenge for those of you up for it – can you manage to combine two of these, or maybe even all three?

Squares is a daily challenge, so your photographs can be from the archives or brand new. If daily is too difficult, then feel free to post every other day, weekly or even just once in the month. How often you post I will include you in my regular pink galleries. Don’t forget though to keep your photo square, and to pingback with #InthePink!

  1. I think there may be some trouble with disappearing comments again. I KNOW I wrote a whole thing here last night when I picked up the link for my post, but it’s gone. Never a dull moment on WordPress.

  2. Very good photo. I like the contract between the scorched grass and the very pink flowers in the foreground. I’m sure queen victoria loved pink flowers too.

  3. Such a clever composition. Works well. And is that the Spinnaker Tower I spy in the distance? We visited Osborne House about 9 or 10 years ago and loved it. In fact we loved the IOW but decided it would be too expensive to live there.

    1. Thank you. Sometimes it just works. And yes well spotted.

I loved living on the Island. Was there just over two years. So much fun. Not too expensive if you never come off but I was having to come off weekly at one point , and boy did the bank account notice!

      1. I hadn’t realised that you had lived on the island (no reason why I should have). I imagined food and fuel would be expensive having to be ferried over. We enjoyed the south of the island, but thought Yarmouth would be a nice town to live in.

      2. South is beautiful. I was in North as wanted easy access to more ferries plus I worked at hospital. I loved it. And yes I thought that before I moved but wasn’t noticeably more expensive. Lovely place but does get crowded in summer.

  4. Oh, my! A reminder of just how very parched it all was. It’s green as green again now! Could the rain have something to do with it? 🙂 🙂 Very impressed with the ingenuity of some of your participants this morning. Debbie’s is to die for! 🙂 Happy slightly damp Tuesday!

    1. Oh Debbie’s is fabulous isn’t it. Just love it.

Tuesday was dry and warm for us, so Mum and I were out all day! Today looks like it might be the same 😊

    1. Hee hee!! Hadn’t decided on the theme at this point. So glad you like, and I absolutely love your fishy dog xxx

  5. Nice one, Becky – both panoramic and particular. I don’t think I’ve ever thought about a corner shot, but this works really well. It’s hard to think the hot brown grass days were only a week or so ago. We’re in the midst of a displaced Welsh sea mist.

  6. I love that you use corners. I have some of those pictures too. I need to redo a couple of them to “square them up.” But this has been such a crazy periods, I don’t seem to have time to do anything but just get by.
