St John’s the Baptist is the oldest parish church in Winchester, and is first church (or last depending on direction of travel) on the Pilgrims’ Way.

It is also one of the venues for the festival I’m organising, and the festival is the reason I must give my apologies to everyone who has left a comment or a pingback over the past 48hours. My Winchester voluntary life has taken over this week as I rush round trying to get everything done. Things are slightly better today, but then it all goes topsy turvey again at the weekend. So please do bear with me a little bit longer. I promise lots of collations in July 🙂

      1. I checked out the program. Goodness, you need four weeks not four days. It looks amazing, with so many things to do. How to choose would be the dilemma! I didn’t know there were two Matildas. I’m going to look into that.

      2. I know!!!! Not sure how on earth I’m going to get round even half this year.
        There’s a fabulous BBC programme on Winchester which covered the Matildas, and in fact the Dr leading the tour is the same person on the programme.

      4. Oh fiddlesticks was double-checking the title of series and realised it was on Channel4 not BBC. Do Channel 4 ever get streamed?
        The series was ‘Britain’s Most Historic Towns” presented by Dr Alice Roberts.
