Welcome to Life of B, a personal blog. It originally began life as a place for random thoughts but over the years thanks to my Nikon lens it has turned into a photo blogging website and is also the host website for the SQUARES blogging challenge.

Prior to April 2022, after years working in the public service, I enjoyed extended visits to Portugal (see my Portuguese blog), pro bono work for Winchester Heritage Open Days, and most importantly enjoying life with my soulmate and husband, Robert. That life suffered an abrupt and irrevocable change in April 2022 when Robert suddenly and unexpectedly died. The past two years since his death have been incredibly tough, and there remain occasions when I am overwhelmed by anxiety and grief.

Slowly though I am rebuilding my resilience and also discovering what my ‘new’ life, as I move forward carrying my grief, might look like. So far the new life has meant moving to a different part of the country and taking up a new volunteering role. It also looks like I will continue my regular walks and keep blogging, which means I am also going to continue hosting Squares.
