As long as your main photograph is square other shapes are allowed, and even encouraged!

So relax over our final few days of ‘Simply Red‘ Squares, and if colour is not your thing why not square with some red idioms such as;
- A red rag to a bull – means provocation but for squares quite a few of you have been sharing some great warning signs
- As red as a beetroot – means embarrassed but beetroot itself or chard is also allowed
- Paint the town red– means having a very good time and one of you has shared a great square of a city being painted red
- Red herring – something that is deliberately misleading and a few of us have been doing that
- Red letter day– is a memorable day or experience, and I just love the stories and letters you have all been sharing
- Roll out the red carpet – or why not give your blog the red carpet treatment in these final few days by sharing your favourite images and perhaps a little bit of glamour
I love these signs – really makes you think. We should have more of them. Here is my contribution to #SimplyRed. I’ve enjoyed posting in Squares and thanks for hosting.

Great shot, what a find for the challenge! I love squaring my photos, Becky, but not all can be. I will join you tomorrow (Wednesday)!

Thanks Terri, and you are so right about the squaring. I was only just saying to another squarer how fascinating it is what works and what doesn’t

I love the sign. We should install them on every street corner. Encouragement for the weary of spirit.
I am committed to square. I can’t help it. I have a lot of square pictures anyway, especially birds and flowers. This one is birds. Tomorrow, something else. Thursday, it will be late in the day before I get to it because I have to be at the hospital early and if I’m lucky, it won’t be a long wait.
Meanwhile, it’s red birds today!

I hope this wasn’t too near the road. It would cause a lot of accidents! Here’s mine today: https://grahamsisland.com/2025/07/29/red-pencil-urchin-2/

Now I am wondering where Whynard Falls is and what change they’d like to see.

It’s a Street Art museum in Miami, well worth a visit if you ever happen to be that far south

I literally looked it up as you added the comment. Won’t be in the States any time soon or if ever again so will rely on your photos.

Yeah I didn’t intend to go this year but had to to collect more cousin. My brief visit in September when I take him back will be my last one for a long while.

At least it meant you got to travel back to the UK in style!

That’s a clever sign, and I think I spy a similarly clever (but not red) one in the backgrgound!
