Tomorrow the grandchildren arrive for a few days or possibly a week, don’t know yet. I do know however I won’t be crocheting squares or flowers for them; a 19th century skill that is beyond me. I can’t knit either!

I am not bad though at telling a yarn; the full yarn about where I found these granny squares and other shapes can be found in a Portuguese post of mine – Crochet Guerillas. I am also quite good at hosting Squares 😉 and there’s still plenty of time to join in with this month’s Squares. The theme is ‘‘Simply Red‘ and as always the only rule is that your main photograph must be square.
I love art phenomenon known as “yard bombing” Yarn Bombing”, also known as Yarn Storming or Knittiti, theform of street art or graffiti that uses knitted or crocheted yarn or fiber to create colourful displays on objects in public spaces. We live near SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design) so we have experienced first hand the wonder!

I’m trying to remember what we used to call those crocheted or knitted squares. I hadn’t thought of them in years! I may yet remember what we called them. Note that I never knitted anything. I’m inept in the sewing and knitting department.
Today I took pictures. I did a little creative processing because I am getting better at it and I want to use them.

My rememberer is broken, but I know it’s in there SOMEWHERE. Deeply buried.

There’s been a resurgence of crocheting and knitting. I’m not very good at it either. I love those samples, though. Here is my weekly #SimplyRed contribution – thanks for hosting. https://followyourgardenbliss.blog/2025/07/23/christmas-in-july-simplyred/

I followed your link to see the original post from 2019 – beautiful creations! I think you’re right that the trees won’t be restricted by them – and they may even have been removed by now.
