Tomorrow the grandchildren arrive for a few days or possibly a week, don’t know yet. I do know however I won’t be crocheting squares or flowers for them; a 19th century skill that is beyond me. I can’t knit either!

I am not bad though at telling a yarn; the full yarn about where I found these granny squares and other shapes can be found in a Portuguese post of mine – Crochet Guerillas. I am also quite good at hosting Squares 😉 and there’s still plenty of time to join in with this month’s Squares. The theme is ‘‘Simply Red‘ and as always the only rule is that your main photograph must be square.
That’s an extraordinary piece of crocheting.

Oh, have a lovely time. Grandchildren make the world go round…at least for me. I think I am going to use a photo of one of my grandchildren in tomorrow’s post.

I am very fortunate to have them in my life, although just learnt they will be all arriving with colds. So wish me luck!!

Knitting and crochet are not my cup of tea, either. But I like the vivid patterns you show to us.
This is mine from Munich:

Glad you like patterns, and we’ll just have to have tea without the knitting!

I tried knitting once – fail, but crochet was fun to do. Have fun with the grandkids! Here’s my entry: https://wp.me/p3RE1e-m55

You’re certainly good at spinning a yarn, Becky! Double dipping again today: https://grahamsisland.com/2025/07/22/the-numbers-game-82/

No, it’s true. I really AM posting twice in one day. The Monochrome challenge has to be posted mid-afternoon on Tuesdays (Australia, see), so … my personal challenge was to work you into every single post this month, even when it was clearly a challenge too far. Here you are: https://margaret21.com/2025/07/22/any-colour-monochrome-black-white-need-not-apply/

I’m sure you have other Granny talents! I’ve never learned to crochet but I had a knitting binge in the 1980s and still have several photos of me sporting hand made jumpers. Then I lost interest – and the last one is still unfinished in a bag with a sleeve on the needles!

I hope so ! and how fabulous, you should finish that last one 😉

I can’t knit or crochet either, Becky, but one of my grandmothers crocheted several afghans, which we have. My square today is fuzzy too, but not made of yarn.
