The theme for July squares is ‘‘Simply Red‘ and I have been in awe of how many different reds have been popping up. In this gallery I have curated the first eleven days plus a couple of newbies and returners who appeared after the 11th but still just in time for this gallery.
Talking of which I thought we’d start in my favourite way; and that of course is with a room of brand new squarers.
- You can be both distinctive and activated with your red squares, or if you prefer relaxed on a beautiful red carpet
- The only rule to avoid being shot and to be part of the gallery is to be square, although on that last one a bit of red would’ve be good too 😉 as this month we are seeing red
- Life is better red as are tablecloths, even if sometimes you have to go with you’ve got
The gallery has sixty three fabulous squarers so if you haven’t already this is the moment to go and put the kettle on or maybe pour something special into a glass. Regular squarers will probably advise that you also grab a slice of cake!
- I’ve loved how many of you are striding through red doors into squares this month, and turning our heads
- We all seem to be in love with Squares, staking a claim or three on the colour red, and even eating our lips.
- It’s a striking colour that blows you away with its magnificence, so much so there’s even been avian photobombing.
If you haven’t squared yet this month then it is not too late to join us. Just remember whether you square daily for the rest of the month, weekly or just the once, your main photograph must be square. Only squares will make it into the next gallery!
- With only one rule, it is relatively easy to stay safe with squares, but it’s probably best not to go out and about wearing your red t-shirt if you are near the bulls.
- It’s however absolutely fine to combine your challenges, to go on beautiful searches and to share your red passion whilst enjoying a vodka
- So keep sharing your boop-oop-a-doop finds, your delicious produce and your fabulous creations
Aren’t these rooms in the gallery amazing to explore. I know they can take a while to look round, so if you can’t spare any more time today make a note to return at the weekend as this next room has some fabulous shades of red.
- Including a few fabulous yet unseasonal reds, some very hot ones and understandably, given the colour, some loud alerts
- If only we could pick up the phone to talk to each other in person and share the great Tv memories and wonderful red traditions
- And talking of communication devices I am just loving the phones, the flags and post boxes so do keep sharing them
Wasn’t that a great roomful of squares, and this next one is equally wonderful. I am in awe of how many of you are squaring daily this month and touched by how many of you have mentioned Cee.
- She would be honoured by all the flowers, so many beautiful flowers and FOTD memories and I know would also love all the incredible sunsets
- There have been plenty of fabulous red cars for her, including vintage ones and very fast ones on mountain tracks!
- I think she’d like all the other fabulous transportation too as well as the brilliant oddities, the memories and wonderful portraits
And finally we come to the final room of our first Red Squares Gallery. It has been such fun collating this, and hope you are having a great time exploring at least two squarers in every room. It means so much to us all to receive a visit a few days after we have posted a square.
- Whether you’re on first or second, or even find yourself with the hiccups, the Squares gallery is the place to play
- It’s also the place to be bold, to share peaceful yet determined messages and to show off your collections and the gardens
- After all Squares is a perfectly formed world of its own; there are even puzzles amongst the red tinge
I love it when you do this. I am very impressed…it is a talent you know! 👍

Your flower is stunning. Is it a poppy? Or ranunculus?

I am amazed. How long did it take you to collate all this? It is going to take hours and hours just for me to run through all the links. (And I somehow deleted your comment on my Greek Yiayia and her visiting.I did appreciate that.)
And I am so thankful that I was told about SimplyRed.

I usually take around 6 hours spread over a couple of days – gallery curation is a great way to keep me out of mischief!

We do appreciate your efforts in compiling your galleries, Becky. If I can, I keep track on a daily basis but it isn’t always possible and I always miss a few. Thanks for the inclusion xx
