What an interesting photo! The costumes are lovely but it’s interesting to see what the women are carrying! Was it part of a ceremony of some kind? And where?

It was in Portugal – Mardis Gras. The local villagers and townsfolk all create floats every year and this was what one group came up

Like Elke I thought they were wearing face veils at first. You must tell me more about why they aree dressed in red like this. A unique one for squares I think. And I quite like that song.

It was part of Mardis Gras – this particular village always likes to include something historical or satirical. This particular year historical, a reflection of when the Moors ran Portugal

I can’t view the video (not allowed where I am) but I love the photo. The contrast between the outfits and the bits of modernity, like the cigarette and purses, is fun also.
