Sorry if I have not yet caught up with your ‘‘Simply Red‘ July Squares, my three days of busyness turned into five and I didn’t start playing catch up until yesterday afternoon. Hope though to finish the catch up this morning, so I am on my way!
In the meanwhile don’t forget the one rule; your main photograph must be square.
Squares is a daily challenge hence me taking a quite few hours to catch up on four days worth of them. I am loving every square, and the amount and variety of red from the archives and recent finds is incredible. For those who have not yet joined us, don’t worry about the daily, feel free to post every other day, weekly or even just once this month. Don’t forget though to keep your photo square, and to pingback with #SimplyRed!
A fun find for Red! Here’s mine for today: https://suejudd.com/2025/07/09/red-on-the-canal/

have I just had a sneak preview of tomorrow’s square? If so, it is amazing. Can’t wait to look at it properly tomorrow

Well it shows how much people value their fire service. Such a pretty building, though the stripy roof tiling did make me think of Lego. Red roofs from me too:

That does seem to qualify as ‘cute’. But I suppose it can’t be quite as dolls’ house-ish as it looks, if it houses at least one fire engine. You’re muscling in on my Indian Journey again today: https://margaret21.com/2025/07/10/indian-friday-a-tourist-in-thanjavur/

I have seen a few like this in the US, they all seemed to house just the one engine. Guess been horse driven at time it was built!
btw I first read that as Indiana Jones and was thinking oh my what has she got up to now?!

Oh I see! I thought it was quite a modern building. And Becky, you shouldda gone to Specsavers.

I agree with Maria’s lego comment!
Mine is as round as her red square: https://picturesimperfectblog.com/2025/07/11/blood-moon-of-2015/

That is amazingly cute for a fire station. Possibly the smallest one I have ever seen as well 😀

amazingly for a country that likes to go big I have seen a few this size. In a small place one fire ‘carriage’ is all they could have I guess.

You could have a wonderfully long greasy pole in that one!
No worries, Becky- you have a serious amount of catching up to do. It’ll happen xx

lego makes more sense than wood for a fire engine house!
