Another piece of art from Wynwood Walls in Miami, I really must write a full post on that extraordinary place. Today though I am simply sharing indoor work from one of my favourite Portuguese street artists – Bordalo II. I first fell in love with his Trash Animals in the Algarve, and then again in Porto. So for a tantalising moment (before I could read the price tag) I thought ooh I can purchase his work.

The theme for July squares is ‘‘Simply Red‘ and the one rule is that your main photograph must be square. If colour is not your thing, then don’t worry why not play around with some red idioms such as;
- A red rag to a bull
- As red as a beetroot
- Paint the town red
- Red herring
- Red letter day
- Roll out the red carpet

Squares is a daily challenge, so your photographs can be from the archives or brand new. If daily is too difficult, then feel free to post every other day, weekly or even just once this month. Don’t forget though to keep your photo square, and to pingback with #SimplyRed!
Those would be interesting to “dissect” and figure out what he used. The OR nurses decorate a Christmas tree with left over plastics from operating room stuff and make it look quite festive.
I’ve gone a different route – letting the signs direct me.

It’s amazing how he does this, though I’m not I’d want those eyes staring at me all day, everyday! Here’s mine today: https://grahamsisland.com/2025/07/09/predator/

I agree, I certainly couldn’t achieve this!

I admire any artist who can recycle random things into art. I see Barbie got her day in the sun, too. Thanks for hosting, Becky, here is mine today:

I’m not sure if I like these but they’re certainly very clever and creative, and interesting to study in detail 🙂

I’m the same. Not really liking all the plastic though I can see some is recycled.

all recycled, it is part of his thinking to highlight the problem caused by plastics. So your reaction is probably exactly what he wants

I think he wants us to feel slightly unsure about liking them

Oh, I’m enjoying these! I have an almost monochrome to offer compared to your riot of colours: https://picturesimperfectblog.com/2025/07/09/ive-never-seen-you-looking-so-lovely/
