I can only imagine the geometric thinking that must have gone into its creation of this sculpture. I first saw this with Robert in Yorkshire, and we both loved it, hence it’s second showing on this blog. Sadly was out of our price range for a garden sculpture, even a moving one, and now I would struggle to fit it into my new tiny garden!

You only have a few days left to become a member of the Squares gang this month. We have all been having so much fun with our Squares.
The theme is geometry which means almost anything goes. Think artists, landscape gardeners, sculptors, architects, engineers, cartographers and scientists. The tag is GeometricJanuary, and you can pingback via your post and/or leave a link with your comment below.

My first thought was that your image was at Kew Gardens not miles away in Yorkshire. Yorkshire is though my destination in yet another geometric Construction. :- https://davidoakes-images.com/2025/01/28/geometric-construction-square/

it was at an RHS garden, so guess similar approach to glasshouses!

What a beauty. I love ginkgo trees so it’s great to see an alternative view of one.

I thought it was a beauty too 🙂 and as you say an alternative view. There’s a bit of debate elsewhere about whether or not it is ginkgo!!

I do like ginkgo leaves, but would prefer this to be yellow like they are in autumn.

I love the tree, and would like to see this in action. Too big for ours as well.

This is really so beautiful sculpture. Geometric January, fascinating… Every owner of a camera bringing amazing photographs. In my student years, I remember I didn’t like lesson geometry, but mathematic was my love… And now, after all years then, I smile, how beautiful geometry. Mathematic and geometry they are both in our life… and how nice we can show this… Yes, dear BeckyB, once again for beautiful challege, Thank you. You almost made my day(s)… Love, nia
For Today, it will be emotional one for me… a sparrow…

Nia you write such beautiful words, and also I think many will feel the same way about school geometry as you. So glad we can now see the beauty of it

That’s great. Is it still in Yorkshire? Where? Packing today for the long journey home. Boo-hoo! But here’s mine for today… https://margaret21.com/2025/01/28/geometry-and-a-bit-of-fun-in-angers/ I won’t be on line at all today after we leave. Cripplingly little data left ….

not surprised you have run out of data! Hope journey is okay. I think they were temporary instalments at Harlow Carr – but maybe you can check once you’re back!

It is very beautiful and I can see why you like it so much. It does look very big though.

very big, about 3 metres high. I already have a 5 metre wall in my garden so think this would just add to the sense of things looming!
