I can only imagine the geometric thinking that must have gone into its creation of this sculpture. I first saw this with Robert in Yorkshire, and we both loved it, hence it’s second showing on this blog. Sadly was out of our price range for a garden sculpture, even a moving one, and now I would struggle to fit it into my new tiny garden!

You only have a few days left to become a member of the Squares gang this month. We have all been having so much fun with our Squares.
The theme is geometry which means almost anything goes. Think artists, landscape gardeners, sculptors, architects, engineers, cartographers and scientists. The tag is GeometricJanuary, and you can pingback via your post and/or leave a link with your comment below.
I love this sculpture!

Would certainly scare the crows away, or maybe not. Might end up as their roost!

Thank you!
I took MORE pictures today and finally made the revelation I’ve made before: I need a better macro lens! I went through 3 lenses today and none of them worked the way I wanted. One is out of alignment and if I can ever find a repair person, it could be fixed. One just isn’t really a macro lens. It’s an “art” lens and while it takes really interesting pictures, they aren’t exactly what I want. AND then the actual macro lens which I haven’t liked since I first bought it a couple of years ago. I’m just not sure what I really need and there are no camera stores out here. I’m not even sure there are any in Boston.
So I’m going to process today’s pictures and see — after using 3 lenses — if these are better.

I apologize for the lack of geometry, but at least they are square — and remarkably, the Christmas cactuses are blooming again. Huh?
That is a remarkable piece of sculpture! I’d want one in MY yard, too!

What Toonsarah said – a bit solid for a ginkgo (gingko? I never know.) It looks as if the leaves have been screwed in the stem. But the shape of a ginkgo leave is always engaging.
Here’s my continued half-timbered saga (joined by geriatrix today, I see): https://picturesimperfectblog.com/2025/01/28/more-geometric-timber/

and yes love how there are a couple of you thinking along the same lines today

Marvellous. By rights, the leaves should turn yellow in autumn and fall off, but that would be tricky to manage.

yeah think that would be beyond any artist!

I love gingko leaves but somehow this seems too big and solid to really capture their beauty!

😂😂 I’ll leave him to it, I’m sure he had his reasons for the design!
