Since 2009 there has been a rather extraordinary outdoor museum in Miami – Wynwood Walls. It is the Floridian home of Street Art, and over the past 15 years has seen hundreds of artists from around the world covering more than 80,000 square feet of walls.

There were around 35 murals when I visited last year, as well as two galleries. I cannot do justice to the whole site in this Squares post, so here are just a few of the more geometric murals with another post or two to follow after squares.

I have been having so much fun exploring your geometry. If you haven’t already squared this month then you have just over a week left to share your geometric favourites. It is totally up to you whether you pingback via your post or add your link with a comment on one of my daily square posts. Both approaches work. There is however no flexibility on the shape of your image; it has to be square!
Great street art. I think I would really like Miami.

Street art just keeps improving. Wonderful photos! I remember when street art was just a spray of paint and that was it. Now, they really ARE artists and have considerable skills.
I had to get out of bed and get to the X-ray place. If I was in better shape, I’d have gone down to the bridge and canal (next to the parking lot, out back of the clinic) and gotten some wintry shots, but I’m urgently in need of not getting chilled. Sent some pix. All square, some more geometic than others. Hope you are well. And WARM.

Hi Becky, I created a post in response to yours about the Painted Ladies in SF. I live across the bay where another history was written. https://lightwords.blog/2025/01/23/geometry-of-east-bay-homes/
Gee those murals are fantastic. Did you get to San Francisco Mission murals?

oh how fabulous, on my way to enjoy
I saw a few on the outskirts but not the main murals as sadly didn’t have the time to properly explore. I still find that I need to take extra time to recharge the batteries these days.
