Well almost silent, but thought I better mention this is my entry for today’s Geometric January.

It looks wonderful. But the pragmatist (spoilsport / killjoy / German?) in me wonders about the functionality. As it is, I’m sure the architext used lots of geometric formular while planning. So here is another geometry geometric from me: https://picturesimperfectblog.com/2025/01/19/more-windows-more-geometry/
I was fortunate, it was a cloudy morning. Worked perfectly for this one. The one next door however worked better on a cloudless day which I caught the following day
Walt Disney’s widow apparently fell in love with Gehry’s design for the new concert hall, but perhaps she had been to Bilbao and see his work there too

I’m not a fan of Frank Gehry’s designs but I am a fan of these photographs. So well captured. The first one especially, a work in greys.

This is a sensational shot, Becky. And yes, I thought of Bilbao’s Guggenheim too. You and Anabel had a preview of my today’s post, yesterday: https://margaret21.com/2025/01/19/geometry-in-a-sunset/

a brilliant choice for geometry. And you caught it well. Looks like the sun was on your side and dimmed itself behind some clouds.

I love modern architecture when it looks like this. Though not every city can have a Disney to sponsor it!

very bold, and it seems to work on this avenue. Not sure it would work everywhere

I also thought it is the Guggenheim in Bilbao.

This is fabulous, Becky. I thought it was the Guggenheim in Bilbao at first sight.

I wish now I had gone in, but at the time I was simply enjoying walking around outside and getting my bearings

Maybe another year? I still have hopes to visit the one in Bilbao.
