We’re a third of our way through the month so I thought I’d better sit down and create our first geometric gallery. It has been such a treat revisiting your squares, and also discovering ones I had missed. I think I have visited every square now but if you noticed I have not liked any of yours, then let me know. I really don’t want to miss any squares. By the way every like should come with a comment, so if there is a like from me but no comment check your spam folder!
Now before we start exploring the gallery, here’s another geometric square from me. A dam I have been driving past (admittedly sporadically) since 1979!

This has been such a fun gallery to collate, but it has taken more than one cup of tea. So I hope you are all sitting comfortably and have a cup of something by your side. As always I am going to start with those who new to squaring and as well as those who have not squared for quite a while.
- Sometimes you just have to put one letter in front of another in squares, take the first step across a bridge or simply look out of the window
- Other times it’s an opportunity to find a new home, play the harp or even go rogue with geometric haiku!
- We’ve also drifted with the winds this month and enjoyed delectable Swiss desserts whilst admiring the splendour of monochrome geometry
- We have been enthralled by architecture, rediscovered childhood memories and found peace in the stillness of stone dances
Wasn’t that a wonderful start to our gallery. I do hope you were able to visit at least three of the squarers in the first room. Now onto the second room which is smaller than the first; here you will find some of the squarers who have been squaring with me since 2017.
- First someone who is my daily thoughts, so special I am going to give her a line of her own
- I hope this month we can all reach high above and let the light in just at the right angle
- Fortunately we don’t have to worry about the dusting or even being chromatic free as we will be saved by the bell
- Talking of childhood memories I’ve concluded it was the Playschool windows and my love of poking holes in the clay
Did any of those squares remind you of childhood moments? If not perhaps you will step back into history in our third room. There are more very special squares and friends in this room.
- I’ve always wanted to have a floor like this as well as fabulous arches but in the UK I think we might need underfloor heating or at least conserve more sunshine
- I’ve also always fancied a grand garden like this, but I know my limitations and also how far into the red my budget will go
- So instead I will continue to enjoy the view through the window, the sparkling colours and shapes above, and the glory and domes of other people’s homes
- As well as the warmth of our neighbours, the surprise of officialdom and the vanishing of the seasons
Now you are probably ready to pour yourself another little something or at least grab a piece of cake. So here’s the dam in colour to provide a little break.

This next room is our penultimate room, and there are more splendid squarers to be found here. It is a small room, so if you can spare a minute or two to visit at least a couple of them, I know they will be delighted to see you.
- I am not the first to discover that squares can offer an escape as well as learning opportunities and historical reflections
- In fact many photographs provide philosophical moments as well as encouraging us to look at things in many different ways and to find connections
- Squares enables us to go travelling from our armchairs, as well as intersecting our lives and opening our eyes to what is below
So finally we come to the last room of our first geometric gallery. As I said at the start I have such fun curating this one, and I have kept some fabulous geometry just to end with. Do let me know your favourites in this room, and from all the other rooms.
- It is generally good to stay until the end, and always beneficial to keep dotting and to hold onto who we are
- Afterall the round will fit into squares, and there will be signs to follow in the midst of our global economies
- So join me and savour the delights of winter, the unexpectedness of pyramids and the joy of the young

I loved seeing the dam in Lake Tahoe, Becky. I’ve never run across it. I see Geo Squares is keeping you busy! I’ll have another one for you Sunday a.m.

an excellent gallery, Becky. And, as always, I’m left marvelling at how you pull them together like this.
As for your mention of Playschool windows, that’s exactly what I thought of when we found that we both like round windows. But I thought you’d be too young to know what I was talking about 😀🤣😀

definitely not too young one of my favourite programmes – I even have a Humpty!
and thanks for your kind words – must admit I marvel at myself sometimes at how the nonsense of words comes together!

Very nicely done Becky, i think I’ve got round all of them. Like Brian, no time for comments and I made a sharp exit from a few that I already knew!

hee hee – you are a superstar visiting them all, and nothing wrong with sharp exits from a gallery! I’ve done that in person a few times 😉

A great way to have breakfast and looking at all of the wonderful square posts.
Brilliantly written too Becky 🥰
I didn’t leave comments as I would still be wading through. Everyone should appreciate a simple like.
I should have realised I could have skipped room two as they are nearly all my “family” 😁

glad I made your Sunday brekkie fun – and I agree a like is fabulous. Hee hee on room two – I thought I’d made it obvious for you!

It was obvious but my mind was elsewhere as I was just clicking the links and not fully reading. The 2017 was the key I missed 🙄

That would be lovely. I seem to be the only one with music. Barbara used to I thought

yes you have been the only one this month so far, although Nia did share a few examples of a drum playing in one of her posts.
