On day nine of GeometricJanuary, I thought I’d take a break from architecture, sculpture and engineering and take a closer look at nature. It is just as impressive, and when you look closely you start noticing the angles of the lines and the shapes. I couldn’t though decide which square crop I preferred. What do you think?

Ouch, if you connected with that geometric shape. Nature is incredible how it forms to protect itself. Here’s another contribution from me – https://lifeatno22.com/2025/01/10/hong-kong-geojanuary/

Just realised I hadn’t visited your site! So here I am – love the natural approach, with the second one winning. Here’s my URL: https://suejudd.com/2025/01/09/geometric-industrial-2/

no worries – so easy to let the squares slip through. The second one seems to be winning

Both pictures are amazing, but if I had to choose, it would be the one that includes part of another cactus in the background.

Both images show nature’s geometry. They are very sharp. Nice change of pace, Becky!

thank you, thought I better put in something a bit different to break up all my bridges

I’d opt for the right image. It’s a little cleaner with more focus on the spikes, and I like the strand of web it catches, too. Here’s mine today: https://grahamsisland.com/2025/01/09/lines-and-colors/

I’d go in for a even tighter crop. But nice to see you also using geometry in nature.

you’ve said that before to me – interesting how you often can see that working better and I always stay a bit further out. I will have to try your way
