A bridge in construction highlights just how much geometry is going on behind the scenes, and I managed to photograph it from two very different angles a few days apart. Amazing at the progress they were making, not that I noticed it at the time!

January 2025 is a Squares Month, and the theme is geometry. So you can photograph almost anything this month as long as your main image is square in shape. It is also good to remember that;
- it is a daily challenge but you can also post weekly, just once in the month or whatever frequency suits you and your blog
- it is totally up to you whether you pingback via your post or add your link with a comment on one of my daily square posts. Both approaches work.
- it helps me enormously when creating the galleries if you use the tag. This month it is GeometricJanuary
Here I am again. And again better late than never. My life here in Spain is providing unlooked for opportunities … https://margaret21.com/2025/01/07/geometry-at-the-gym/. Just as that fabulous trip to America looks as if it was designed for you to fulfil your own challenge!

A bit like Tauranga with it’s cranes, though they are slowly disappearing as more construction is finished. Love a good bridge. Here’s my contribution, Becky. https://lifeatno22.com/2025/01/08/bee-geometric-geojanuary/

always sign of a city doing well I think cranes

Any bridge would be good to show geometry but with all the cranes etc. this one is even better for the theme than a finished bridge would be!
I’ve finally got around to a post, which I’ve linked to this page: https://www.toonsarah-travels.blog/gallery-finding-geometry-in-islamic-design/

When I was in London I was impressed by how many construction cranes I saw! I like your slider compare.
It does take a lot of geometry to build a bridge or high rise.

I do like the slider option but am not always organised enough to have comparative photos!
I have a feeling I am going to really like your builder at work. Will be across shortly to enjoy

Great captures of the construction in progress and your use of WordPress image comparison. Lots of geometry in your two photos. Here’s my entry: https://natalietheexplorer.home.blog/2025/01/07/public-art-the-bentway/

WOW! Geometry is in everywhere, but when you capture it with your camera, it seems to take on an extraordinary shape. I wonder if it would be this impressive if we passed by it every day. So beautiful dear BeckyB. Thank you, have a nice day, Love, nia

excellent point about passing things everyday – I was beginning to get fed up with walk underneath it all and I was only there 5 days!

That is good progress! I photographed our new canal bridge almost weekly while they were building it and it is interesting to look back on how it developed.

oh you were dedicated – I always have these good intentions to do a progress check but then I get distracted!

Well, it’s on a regular walking route anyway and started just before lockdown. Once construction restarted it made a nice target for the allowed daily exercise!

the sketches of what it will look like at the end are wonderful – think it will be a really lovely addition plus it will enable some of the districts that were split in half to reconnect

so glad you like it – and am sure your pingback came through. They are just taking longer than usual because I am slow on approvals this week
