I walked into the room, and initially was a bit daunted. The space had been cleverly used but would I a) be able to get up onto the bed it was very high, and b) would I really have a great city view. Then I pushed button to raise the blind and smiled!

It is day four of this month’s Squares Challenge, and if you haven’t already guessed it the theme is Geometry.
Geometry is an essential part of architecture and interior design, and it has certainly been used to great effect in this hotel. Did you know there’s even a branch of research called architectural geometry? Might explain why I am going to be sharing quite a few building squares this month.

You can join us daily, just at the weekends or whenever suits you and your blog. You can even link to other challenges as I have today with 6WS. The only absolute is that your image can only be one geometric shape and that is Square.
Cities in the US are magical at night.

Ah, a good old citizen M. I love those hotels when I’m travelling on my own (can be a bit cramped for two!). They are so friendly and there’s always somewhere to sit and relax downstairs.
And what a great view!

I only discovered them on my trip last year – as you say perfect for sole travelling

That is one great picture window! Nice to open a window and see that.
And we are up: https://teepee12.com/2025/01/05/squares-geometrically-speaking/
I’ll do a bigger search tomorrow. I have a lot of cityscapes. I have to find them and see if they are already squared or need to be reprocessed. I was never “in” L.A. Very nearby. Hollywood, the Canyon — but I didn’t take any pictures. I was working and I didn’t have a camera. I was between the film camera and the new ones, but CD cards were still to come. My Mavica used a full “floppy disk” as its drive and it was a very clunky camera. It was more a brave attempt than a real camera.
About a year later, everything changed.
