They always looks stunning- but are so useless. For one, not that many insect prey flying or crawling about. And I guess the sticky stuff isn’t that sticky once it’s frost covered. And do you know that you can drive a spider crazy? If you keep destroying the same spider’s nest again and again the design will get more and more erratic. No nutrition probably also plays a part.
A great photo!

Beautiful web Becky. All it needs now is a spider in a sweater!

I’ve seen plenty of webs decorated with raindrops but never one frosted. How pretty.

A common sighting in our winter months. The trick is remembering camera on frosty days!

How pretty with all that frost – a lovely prequel! And a reminder that I must get squaring soon 😀

They do photograph well with frost. We saw tons in France with the frost. Gosh, so many geometric squares coming up!!

But how mean is that? I hope this isn’t YOUR experiment, Elke!

No, noooo. Of course not. I read about it. Apparently it was originally published in a scientific journal.

Frosty webs are beautiful AND noticeable so you don’t walk into one! Anything can be squared if you crop it tightly 🤗
