Chris and Cee have been so appreciative of your virtual flowers, love and kind words since my last update as have I. And they need your thoughts, prayers and good wishes even more now.

I am really sorry to tell everyone that despite an improvement last week, Cee is still in hospital and things have taken a turn for the worst. She will be coming home in the next day or so for hospice (palliative) care.

Chris took me to see this, it is in her and Cee’s home town

I cannot imagine what Cee and Chris are going through right now, but know that being able to come home for her end-of-life care is helping them both enormously. It is though heart breaking news for everyone who knows this wonderful couple, whether in person or through the blogging world. I will be staying in regular contact with Chris so please do leave any messages you want to send them below and I will forward.

  1. I am heartbroken to hear this news, Becky. Cee has taught so many….myself included….so much about photography and is an example for all in the blogging world of how to treat with respect and encourage others they encounter. I send my love to Cee and Chris.

  2. I don’t know what else to write except what has been expressed by all the others. It is indeed sad news even if Chris and Cee can both find a modicum of comfort in being able to spend their time together at home. One of the first photo challenges in which I participated was Cee’s Compose Yourselve where she explained principles of composition and colour and depth of field and the like. I learned so much form her about lines, and negative space, and this kind of thing. That was nine years ago and I think I have become a better photographers thanks to no small part to her. Her challenges often forced me to rethink how to look at a photo.

Please pass my best wishes to her and Chris. One of the wonderful things about the blogging community is the international membership. Cee is as far away (or as close) to me as someone in England, or in Germany, or in Croatia. So hugs and wishes and thoughts from Germany, just a small bit away.

  5. So sad to hear this news. Cee is a shining light in the blogging world, and an inspiration to many. Calling on all angels to watch over Cee and Chris during this difficult time. May they find peace surrounding them going forward. ❤ 🪷

  6. Oh my goodness..that is such a difficult news to accept. I hope Chris and Cee can find their peace with this. In Indian philosophy, we believe that the soul is immortal and changes bodies like a living person changes clothes. I hope this thought gives a different perspective. Becky – please share my wishes of peace and love with both of them ❤️. And thank you for being the communicator 🙏.

  8. This is terribly sad, Becky, I am so sorry for Cee and Chris. I didn’t do Cee’s challenges myself, but of course I know of her – who could not be aware of all the flowers and other magic pouring through WordPress at her behest? I can see what an impact she has made on the blogging community and she will be much missed.

  10. Becky, this is such a shock! I really didn’t see it coming. You must be so glad that you went to see them when you did. I can’t quite believe that the smiling, gentle person I met on Zoom with you all is in this situation. I am so desperately sorry for her and for Chris. They have looked after each other for so long. What a heartbreak! Please give them both my love, and if there’s anything we can collectively do to help then please do let me know.

    1. Sorry Jo, I know only last week I had told you things were looking more positive. Sadly I think that improvement was just a small blip rather than the actual direction. It is as you say heartbreaking. I will pass on your kind words, and will keep you posted if there is anything more we can do xx

  11. I love Flower of the Day. Cee is such a great host. I don’t know how one person could do all the attentive responses she did each day. What if we make it a cooperative like the lens-artists and 7 people each choose a day of the week? An idea in Cee’s honor. -Rebecca

    1. I agree that we need to keep Flower of the Day going, out of respect, for at least as long as she is with us. I haven’t often contributed, but I always look.

      1. As I said a truly lovely idea, but think Cee if she can needs to make the decision or Chris if she cannot. I will chat to Chris and share Rebecca’s lovely idea

    2. That is a lovely thought – let me discuss it with Chris once Cee is home, and then we can go from there. Don’t want to rush them into any decisions just yet – but definitely something we need to find a way of keeping going. Chris may want to do it herself. I will keep you posted.
