Tomorrow morning I am going to be travelling on another railroad out of Portland to see two special people. So today, in their honour, I thought I’d post a railroad story from last weekend in Truckee, California. I stood in the middle of a rail track; first I looked east and then I looked west.

Posted for Cee’s Which Way.

    1. yeah definitely wouldn’t risk it if trains were coming but this was a railroad crossing, so I knew I’d get plenty of warning plus I knew the next passenger train wasn’t due for 20 minutes and there would be no more freight for at least an hour

    1. Sorry I didn’t call in the end. Unexpected grief waves hit me as I walked into the hotel. All fine this morning, so will ring this evening

and so glad you love this shot 😀

    1. oh my goodness you have been Truckee too?! The other side of the tracks has been gentrified since I was last here 10 years ago, but other than that you are right almost the same as it was 30 years ago.
