Spotted this not far from my front door, and with the thought of September Squares already in my head it brought to mind the phrase (or at least the alternative version May to December) that could have been used for Robert and I in our early days together. With a 25 year age gap, it probably was by many of our family, friends and acquaintances!

Seven is theme for September Squares as it was seven years ago that squares was launched. September also happens to be the seventh month in the Roman calendar. To join in this fun challenge you somehow include seven in your photograph, and that can include taking a photograph anytime during the 7th hour, the 7th month or even 7 years ago when we first began squaring. Whatever you decide to do though don’t forget your photograph must be square and that you only have until Monday 30th September!
Simple and elegant. I like that the sign is square. Here’s mine today: https://grahamsisland.com/2024/09/27/a-long-way-from-anywhere/

It sounds like yours was a beautiful May-September romance! I’m squaring today, looking back at our cruise to Alaska, seven years ago. Seven Years Ago – First Cruise to Alaska – Cats and Trails and Garden Tales

Sounds like there is a romantic tale to be told here, sometime. I am intrigued as to how you both met. My sister-in-law had a similar age gap with her second husband: they met when she was taking golf lessons and he was her tutor. As it is oft said, age is just a number.

It’s tale that will certainly make you smile – you’ll have to visit me and I will tell you!

Thanks so much for your inspiration. I have loved this challenge and realise how special and important it was for you. May to December – how beautiful in many ways we love the person and the age is not an issue until those later years. Perhaps that’s why you filled your time together with so much joy and sharing of your experiences in Portugal. I hope you will revisit at some point. Do get in touch if you do. ( Or Spain, Seville is beautiful in the cold of a UK winter!)
Oh and I can’t get over the AI generated blub for the post! I’m really not sure how it came up with such an accurate linking up of the range of ideas in the post! The future is….help!

Those flowers remind me of gardenias that I carried at my wedding. And there is a fairly wide age gap between my husband and me too. Makes no difference at all!!
