I really didn’t think it was going to happen after my internet woes, but here we are on 1st September posting Squares.
It is seven years since we first began the Squaring Adventure, and like September was for me seven years ago this September is going to be an emotional and busy. Hopefully though Squares will keep me grounded, and I know you will all be very patient on the days when I get behind with pingbacks and comments.
In case you missed the two prequels, let me tell you a little bit more about the theme. Not only are we celebrating seven years of Squares, but it is taking place in what was originally the seventh month of the year, hence the name September. This leads me nicely on to some ideas on how to interpret the theme;
- you could share a photograph which was taken at 7am, 7pm or anytime during the 7th hour
- or maybe a photograph taken on the 7th of the month or in the 7th month, which can be either July or September!
- perhaps you have a favourite shot taken 7 months ago, on a 7 mile hike or even 7 years ago when we first began squaring.
- the number 7 might appear in your photograph or you could photograph 7 objects
- or perhaps you know someone or a place with seven in their name!

There is so much you can do with seven, and as you will have spotted in my image once you start looking there are often multiple sevens to be found. But before you start having fun let me just quickly remind you of the challenge rules;
- the challenge begins today and remains active until the last day of this month
- it is a daily challenge but many will be posting every 7 days (obviously) and a few might post just once and a couple of other Squarers have said they plan seven posts for the month.
- it is totally up to you whether you pingback via your post or add your link with a comment on one of my daily square posts. Both approaches work. It would though help me if you could use this month’s tag SevenforSeptember.
- as you can see pretty relaxed rules apart from one absolute; your main image must be Square in shape!
I do hope to create at least one gallery during the month but I am busy with visitors the first half of September and away travelling the second half. The latter will be in multiple time zones, so the galleries may have to wait until later in the autumn.
Great to have you squaring again! I’ll be joining in later in the month but probably only once, possibly twice, as we’re going to be away a lot too.

Hooray for 7 years of squares, Becky! Congratulations for creating such a popular feature for the blog world. You know me, I’ll share when I can. Today I have 7 creepy crawlies for you (Sunday Stills).

So pleased you managed to get access to run this challenge this month, Becky. It needed to be a September to take full advantage of the seven-ness.
As Sue says, it’s great that so many have joined in already. In fact, I’m feeling a bit tardy! But here we go with my first September seven – a seven name taken seven years ago 🙂

Exactly on why I was so desperate to make it happen this month.
And you’re definitely not tardy, still most of the USA to wake up yet!

Lovely to have the Queen of Squares back on our screens! You have a lot of posts to trawl through already so I have scheduled my first one for 7 pm. All posts will be from seven years ago which has a very significant date as you will see.
Love the post box and you have nudged my memory to post the ones my daughter got for me from Gibraltar where there is one from each monarch including the very rare Edward VIII. I shall wait until my postcards from around the world has ended though, and this month concentrate on the squares!

Awww thanks, and will look out for yours at 7pm.
Love the idea of a postbox special. I wonder if any King Charles III will be made.

You would think they would, though probably only where new ones are needed, like on a new housing estate.

The first red post box with the cypher, which is like a signature, of King Charles III has been revealed by the Royal Mail.
It was unveiled in Great Cambourne, Cambridgeshire.

Maybe getting mail in a fancy King Edward VII post box might take the sting out of all the bills and junk mail I seem to get?
Happy Squaring!
