As with the Torre de Menagem I discovered this Square Reconstruct thanks to the information board. This board though I have managed to make square along with one of the room itself. What an incredible studio, and even more extraordinary reconstruction. Click on board to find out more.

Really fascinating!

I like the busyness of the Reconstruction Room. At first glance it looks messy and unorganized etc. Junky. But everything there may one day be useful.
Reminds me of my husband’s workbench in the garage. in fact it reminds me of HIS whole garage. But thank goodness for those tin cans of screws, nuts and bolts.

The bent over figure in the first photo reminded me of seeing the human reconstructions of the original body to be used where the original body was found.
The original bodies are carefully preserved at at the Museum in Naples research department.
Opps raved, sorry. Great idea for the squares Becky x

he may easily have got his ideas from there

What a treasure trove! He must have been a very prolific worker.

Yes, I read his bio and just amazing what he did. If you travel through London his work can be found everywhere including the mosaics in Tottenham Court Rd underground station

Ah, recognised that straight away! Always like to have a quick peek when we are in Modern 2.

Now that is a very sensible way to approach it. I was almost overwhelmed by his creative chaos, so much to look at.

That was probably true the first time, but when you go quite often you can take it in a few bits at a time.

I will add it to my things to do for my regular family visit – it is only about 15 minutes walk from them, so I can easily do little and often

Aaagh. As I have to schedule several posts later on this month, I scheduled today’s as a test. It published OK, but I see the pingback hasn’t worked, though I’m sure the link was correct. I’ll try again tomorrow. But I’ve sent you my link in the comments…. WP eh?

ooh how weird – I’ve checked spam and cannot see it there. Learning from my own past aaarghs the most complicated bit of scheduling with links is getting the date in right format. Might be worth double checking

I have tried checking. Next time, I might try typing the whole link in, rather than cut-and-pasting and amending the last bit. *sigh*

Definitely the date – you’ve got 06 rather than 07 in the date section. I wish WP didn’t add the date.

Ooops! Just about to schedule tomorrow’s. Will Try Harder!

I would still blame WP for making it so awkward!

We need someone to blame, don’t we?

I love “in process” pictures. One of the plaster studies reminds me of the giant in front of the British Library.

I can see this must have been an involving visit, and I’ll follow up Teresa’s link too. My post today involves some small-scale creativity: https://margaret21.com/2024/05/07/the-story-of-a-spoon/

It was almost overwhelming so much to see – think I’ll have to return when I am next visiting my family in Edinburgh

I have studied sculpture for few years, it is such a great form of art and has such a meditations benefits as you concentrate so hard to try to create your vision. what a creative mess is your square

I admire sculptors so much, and can totally get why is must be such a meditating art form. My past creations however suggest only I will ever really appreciate the creative mess I end up with!

I went to this place for the autumn leaves, but when I learned about the history, I found out that it is a story of rebuilding https://wanderingteresa.com/the-rebuilding-of-the-forest-glade-gardens/
