This was taken on one of those walks I hadn’t planned, I just let my feet take me. It is something I do quite often now. One of the many changes in my life since my world turned upside down in April. I suspect everyone on this train had planned their journey.

Are your walking routes planned or do you just follow your nose? I guess it depends on why you are walking, and reflecting on the variety and fabulousness of your #WalkingSquares there are multiple reasons for your walking journeys.
Hi dear Becky B, I’m so glad you took this trip and brought Squares back this month. My post will come out on Wednesday highlighting one of the few walking trails I’ve been on this month. Lots of love to you as you walk along on your journey. It is full of beauty.

My walks are more spontaneous. I try to change my route and sometimes I get in the car, drive further from home, park and explore new trails.

Spontaneous walking is very relaxing. I should do it more often!
This is my entry for today: https://wanderlustig2019.wordpress.com/2022/11/28/almost-a-winter-walk/

Sometimes my walks have a clear route, but often I venture out with my camera and end up whereever there is something to capture. 🙂

What a spectacular photo! I’m trying to get away from my indoctrination of needing to plan and forever organized. Learning to follow my muse.

It’s not easy but once you have done it a few times it does become easier – how about having one day a month when you don’t plan!

Chis and I had bought a new tent trailer and planned a week on the Colorado plains since it was wintertime. We stopped for a train and decided to go visit some friends in Tucson, Arizona and the Grand Canyon instead. It was a wonderful trip.
Anyhow, here is my entry for the day. Enjoy.

Love the photo. My walks are mostly planned, at least in where I’m going. What happens on them entirely depends on what’s going on out there and what I see. Here’s mine today: https://grahamsisland.com/2022/11/28/stop-that-incessant-buzzing/

ah now that sounds like Robert and I and our Portuguese walks. We always had the overall route in our heads but could be diverted by birds, by the weather or even the state of the footpath. The diversions always added something 🙂 going to miss walking with him there so much, but hopefully next year I will be able to take his daughters on one of his favourite walks out there

I like that about walking. One never knows quite what will happen. I hope you do go back to Portugal. It seems like a place that means so much to you.

I started taking unplanned paths when I started jogging, about 15 years ago. I never knew where I would go. I was limited, of course, by the fact that I had to return home. So I took advantage of weekends when I could rely on my live-in chauffeur. I just started running, often only deciding once I was out of the door which direction I was going to take and I ran. When I had enough I looked for a road, phoned my husband to pick me up and waited. Thank goodness for cellphones!! – My walking square for today is a combination: we planned to meet up with our group, we follow a set trail without knowing where it will lead. And yesterday – there was a twist.

I like that too Becky! My walking partner, Jenny would often say: Let’s take another route! That is exciting because you get to see new places.
