Apparently rhododendrons some years can think it is spring in the autumn, not that it feels like spring today. I took this a few weeks ago.

I found some late rhodies a couple of weeks ago as well. When I posted them for Cee’s FOTD & Debbie’s 6WS, Cee let me know that there are some rhodies that re-bloom in the autumn 😃 Here’s mine for today: https://jezbraithwaite.blog/2022/11/21/under-darkening-skies-walkingsquares/

Yes I never realised they did. Heard of autumn flowering camellias but not rhododendrons flowering twice

Unexpected? I should say so. Not good, is it? I thought you and Brian could share my post today. That’s alright with you, isn’t it? https://margaret21.com/2022/11/21/monday-portrait-of-a-young-cow/

PS and yes worries me too. I know there are autumn/winter flowering camellias but rhododendrons . . . . . . .

I love them whatever time of year they appear. Already there are hints of Spring here. I saw my first almond blossom the other day. It looked a bit lonely on the bare tree.

The last time I was at Stourhead, certainly did not see a Rhododendron in bloom though one is told you will always see one in bloom throughout the year.
