This scene still makes me giggle. We were in Nevada on a steam train, when the train was boarded by a gang of robbers. What are the odds of that happening?!
A mile or so down the track the sheriff happened to be standing there, and he managed to persuade the robbers to leave the train. By persuade I mean gunfight! Two robbers were shot, and both fell down. Well kind of. The leg of one went straight up in the air after he had been shot, and oddly it stayed up! At least it did until they all boarded the train again to travel back with us to Silver City. It was the oddest and funniest trip I have ever taken on a steam train.
Do you have any odd stories to share? If you do why not share them as part of this month’s Squares Challenge. Just remember your accompanying photographs must be square, and if you can use the tag SquareOdds.
What an odd experience!
I haven’t mushroom for an odd tale in my post today, Becky… https://wp.me/pVkLb-5N6 !!!

I’ve been on trains where they had a train robbery. They are fun and odd that is for sure.
Here is my entry for the day.

Is it a thing? Never happens on British vintage trains.

That must have been fun. Good thing none of the passengers joined in the ruckus. You never know in the U.S.! Here’s mine today: https://grahamsisland.com/2022/02/25/signs-working-together/

Didn’t even occur to me at the time, but now you and others have suggested that I am quite relieved they didn’t.

Looks like a fun excursion, assuming this was play-acting, LOL! Thanks for hosting this month. I have one more Sunday Stills post to add to the fun soon, but I managed to add the ODD photo to this morning’s fitness post. Not that there is anything odd about fitness! https://secondwindleisure.com/2022/02/25/the-dreaded-fitness-cliff-five-fixes-to-save-your-workouts/

What fun! No similar story from me but a trip to The Barnes Museum in Philadelphia where you can see…some odd things outside the museum. 🙂

I once was part of a play at school (a medieval farce) where I was the princess who loved the executioner. It ended with all of us dead strewn about the stage in more or less comfortable positions. My love interest at one performance was so contorted and kind of underneath me that he couldn’t stop wheezing and moaning and I kept hissing “Shut up! You’re dead!” until we both got the giggles. We corpsed – in sort of two ways at once. – Nice story and memories from you, Becky!

I’d definitely want to know it was staged! (And don’t think they should try this in America)

It is an open carry gun law in Nevada, so suspect if they saw anyone carrying they would have alerted them this would be happening.

At least your invasion was pretend. Gunmen boarding our bus in Afghanistan was very real.
