Is your first thought that’s an odd place for an office, or does your heart sink at the sight of odd pieces furniture in the countryside. I have to admit I have got used to stumbling across the odd seat or two under a tree in the Algarvian countryside for use by a passing hunter or farmer. This though is a little bit unusual. Not a pretty sight I admit, but at least the hills are silent during the day and without lights at night.

Light and noise pollution is rife in most urban settings and increasingly also in country settings the UK and yet these pollutions seem to be far less talked about. They are however as harmful to nature and ourselves as abandoned rubbish and the less visible but ever growing plastic and chemical pollutants in the environment. I find it odd we don’t talk about light and noise as much.

That’s it for my Friday bugbear, let’s now focus on the fun of the Squares Challenge. If you have not yet joined us we are looking for square photographs that are;

  • Differing from the usual or not happening often (ie oddballs, the exceptions and follies)
  • Separated from its set or mate (eg odds and ends or maybe odd socks or shoes)
  • Not divisible exactly by two (ie odd numbers) or the number is unknown (ie 300 odd birds)
  • Or simply something that you find odd, afterall oddness like beauty is in the eye of the beholder

  1. The positive side of all this rubbish that has been dumped everywhere, Becky, is that the people who have dumped their rubbish now have plenty of space to acquire more. 🙄 And that chair looks like it’ll be no good for any passing hunter!
    Although, it’s a nice setting for an outdoor office…
    My post today is odd on a few levels: https://wp.me/pVkLb-5La

    1. Yes, I think it has got worse partly because it is now harder to get rubbish collected and to get to a tip. But I also I think people are just lazier and less caring 😦
