You may have spotted this one in the day one gallery on my home page as it is one of my most visited square posts. Not 100% sure if it is because of the square or the fact that many of you like to link back to the first day of squares. Whatever the reason for its popularity, being in the top five provides me with a great excuse to share it again today, as we celebrate Past Squares. I rather like it too!

The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum

By the way if you haven’t already joined us for Past Squares this month, there is still plenty of time to share your own memories, personal favourites, leftover squares and also have fun with Square themes you have always wanted to try. You will find plenty of inspiration in the latest gallery, and if you want to check out the instructions visit Past Delights – the only rule you need to remember though is that your image must be Square.

    1. thank you Tish – think I spent as long in this huge space looking up as I did in parts of the museum! The light and shadows were amazing that day

  1. I remember this one well. It’s one of those we were talking about where because of the perspective it does not look square at all. Hope you have finished all your packing. Counting down the days now!

    1. ooh yes I remember you challenging me on it at the time!!

Almost there on packing – the suitcases are always awkward to pack as so many odd items such as multiple maps, kitchen equipment, my special suncream, and other essentials we always take with us. Hardly any clothes!

        1. It has the essentials, but we’ve learnt over the years there are always some items we miss such as a sieve, pestle and mortar, peeler, a good cork screw, hand blender, tiny hand juicer, measuring jug, extra tea towels and sharp knives. All of those items (and others) we have bought out there in previous years – I now have a little box I go to each year to take out with us! Although the knives we are going to buy new ones out there this year, the gypsy market sells some great ones and we’ve decided we need some more.

        2. both are essential for a good holiday!!

and yes, but not difficult as we are in fact the furthest away from sea so the hotel is delighted to put us in there as they can keep others for short stays. We like it because it is the quieter end, and all you need to do to see sea is go out onto balcony or walk outside 🙂 It is a huge development – sadly not in keeping with rest of town but perfect for us otherwise https://www.realmarinaresidence.realhotelsgroup.com/

        3. Thanks for the link Becky. I looked at the place a while ago (pre-covid) and it seemed like a very reasonable place to use as a base. I guess you know the area well by now.

        4. Definitely a good base for the south, and Spain within reach too. We don’t pay the advertised prices because we book such a long stay.

And yes have our favourite places, but lots still we have yet to explore 🥰

    1. The light in this part of the museum was amazing that day – I was in this section for ages, most people just rushing past me wondering what on earth I was photographing!!
