I am back in Portugal for today’s #TreeSquare as it is Friday, and I spotted another little something in my tree archives for Marsha and Cee.

I suspect the yarn is no longer in situ as I photographed this street art back in 2019. However it was definitely public art as it was all over this Mértola. Each tree had been bombed by a different parish, a reflection that many of the villages to the north and west of Mértola were once renowned for their lace making, their blankets and woven carpets. You can enjoy more of their crochet designs here.
Love it! https://andanyways.com/2021/07/24/champagne-2/

That yarn tree is pretty neat looking! I like this idea, but have never seen one. 🙂

This is so cool, Becky. The Waldorf school always had crochet things hanging and wrapped on trees and fences in my former neighborhood. Does it mean something significant?

I think the first ones in California did, but ever since then it seems to be a creative celebration

Very colorful. Do they remove it at some point or just leave it to weather? Must get a bit ratty looking I’d think. Here’s mine today: https://grahamsisland.com/2021/07/23/kohala-coast-tree/

I have no idea, not been back there since 2019! Will let you know if we make it there later this year – it might be okay as they don’t really have that bad weather.
