After days in Portugal enjoying their trees, I thought I return today to England and take you into a English wood. We only recently begun exploring this wood on the edges of Stockbridge Down and it is fast becoming a favourite place to escape to. It also happens to be small enough so you can see both the wood and the trees! By the way if you are ever out and about in the UK and wondering what the tree is in front of you, there’s a great app created by The Woodland Trust which will help you identify them. here’s a short video telling you more.
I love trails like this one, and the app is a great tool. I’m clueless when it comes to trees or flowers

What a pleasant walk this would be. There is app on my phone to id plants but I haven’t figured out how to use it.

yes I am not sure they are always easy to use – might be worth watching the video as probably based on same thing

I would enjoy a stroll down that avenue of trees Becky. That app video makes it look so easy but I bet it’s not that easy. The number of different Eucalypts within the same species would be a nightmare. Basic woodlands perhaps but rainforests and even my forest……sigh 🙂 🙂

I think you are probably right about the app – perhaps i should try out in my garden. I know all the trees so be interesting to see if it agrees!

That will be interesting to give it a test 🙂 🙂

Broadleaf woodlands can be very tranquil places to walk through. So many diverse trees and plants. I have some of the more unusual trees for you this week.

I know!!! Probably stress induced – did think I may have been grinding my teeth at night these past few weeks, and the filling in this one is very old. Hopefully they’ll get it all sorted for me when i go in – at least i slept last night unlike the previous night.

You are lucky to have a dentist! We haven’t a hope in hell in getting an NHS dentist and even private ones haven’t been taking on new patients this last 18 months.

Yikes – that is not good 😦 hmmm maybe something for us to consider when we move. Ours is both NHS and private, so able to do check ups on NHS and benefit from being able to access private treatments for some of the fancier stuff

Definitely something to consider.
