After days in Portugal enjoying their trees, I thought I return today to England and take you into a English wood. We only recently begun exploring this wood on the edges of Stockbridge Down and it is fast becoming a favourite place to escape to. It also happens to be small enough so you can see both the wood and the trees! By the way if you are ever out and about in the UK and wondering what the tree is in front of you, there’s a great app created by The Woodland Trust which will help you identify them. here’s a short video telling you more.
The first of two for day 15:

I’m starting to think I should be aiming for 50 squares as the Trees challenge is ideal for me.

oh my – 50! Well you could always save some for October squares as that theme will be good for tree pics too!

That’s a beautiful capture of woods, Becky.

I shall have to look into that app, Becky, I always get my trees mixed up.
My square today is of another unknown tree… or perhaps something lurking within?

It is the evergreens I always get confused, although must admit I have not really tried to learn them either!!

I’m OK with oaks and palm trees, and weeping willows… the rest are just trees. I have to change that knowledge.

Indeed it is. I’ll probably forget to do it, though… and if I don’t, I’ll probably forget what I learn. Ah… to be a spring chicken again, instead of a summer fried one.
