Thought I’d use one of the suggestions from my original theme list, and look at a tree in more detail. I have selected the cercis siliquastrum, widely known in the English speaking world as the Judas Tree. You can find more photographs of it here in one of my Portuguese posts.

Beautiful close up photo. Unusual to see flowering like that – thanks for the peek! Here’s my square for today.

so glad you like, yes I think Jo said it is caused by late pruning

In this case I think late was a good thing. So pretty! 🙂

I’ve never seen anything like that before. Unusual and lovely. I have a combo shot today for both you and Jude:

It’s aways strangely fascinating when the flowers seem to sprout directly from the bark.

I considered a few close ups before deciding that the prompt is plural so all my squares should feature more than one tree. Here’s my day 14 square:

To be followed by a square wordless Wednesday post later.

I am thoroughly enjoying your interpretations 🙂
Might be tomorrow before I can enjoy your day 14 though. I am struggling with toothache today. Only got a few hours sleep, and now a bit befuddled by painkillers!

Don’t worry about it, I’ve got ongoing medical issues so don’t know when or if I will be around.

So bizarre! Like flowers springing directly from tough old bark.

I know, so strange – usually it does flower at the end of branches like most blossom, but some trees seem to go pink everywhere

It is going! A ache today rather than pain, and I slept through the night so all is good. Well it is improving anyway – and next week see the dentist. She’s away at the moment and I’d prefer to wait to see her as I have a dental phobia!
