  13. Ripe oranges on the tree are so atmospheric. An if-only here in Lancashire, much like lilacs and lavenders are where my sweetheart is from but all the more welcome for it. I liked the quote about plants that fruit and flower at the same time. Rugosa roses and blackberries are another example – we do have lots of those growing wild together.
