Now this one came about as a result of me chatting to MrB in the final stages of preparing my trees. I thought it such a brilliant idea I changed today’s post, and it kinda of ties in with all the wonderful informative #TreeSquares so many of you have been doing. I have learnt so much over the past few days, thanks to all of you.

So who recognises this tree? For those who are not certain what it is, its purpose is to extend the life of a shoe. They are placed inside a shoe to preserve its shape, stop it from developing creases and help control odour and absorb moisture. A brilliant device and a brilliant suggestion for #TreeSquare as their name is Shoe Tree.

If this has inspired you to join us this month here are a few other ideas for the theme;
- Trees can be centre square or hidden in the background
- You could focus on one tree and share a different part of the same tree each day
- Or if you have lots of tree photographs why not square a different species every day
- And as you have seen today you don’t even need to share real trees! It is totally up to you how you include trees in your July squares.
If a daily tree square sounds daunting, it is also okay to join weekly or even just pop in occasionally with your trees. The frequency and content of your squares entirely depends on you and your blog. The only absolute rule for joining in with Squares is that your photograph must be square in shape! Although I’d love it if you also left a comment on my post, conversations with you make the challenge so much fun.
PS Did you notice I even managed to include the shadow of a real tree in my second square.
I recognised what they were, but had no idea they were called ‘shoe trees’. 🙂

Love this take on TreeSquare!
Loving Husband uses this sort of shoe trees as well.
Are those shadows of a tree’s leaves I spy?

This tree option had come to mind, but then I realized I don’t have them anymore! Great shots.

Very clever! I do have a set of shoe trees…do you call them a set or a pair? I have no idea. I keep them in my riding boots to hold their shape – not that I ever use the boots for actual riding, of course…

ooh pair or not a pair – I have no idea!! MrB used to keep a pair (oh it is pair) in his riding boots too!!

Beautiful wood in those shoe trees. Have seen plastic versions of the same device but your wooden ones are so much nicer. Are they very old. Great capture with shadow of the delicate leaves framing them. Going to add a tree square to my post for tomorrow.

When I was young, there was a shoe tree in the house and if you shopped for new shoes, they would be in the men’s section.

yes they do seem to be made for mens shoes more than womens, guess our shoes have less leather maybe?
