I cannot believe we are almost at the end of another squares. Where does the time go?! There is still time though to join in with squares and help make the world shine a little brighter. So if you haven’t already or have only shared one or two why not join us today, tomorrow or Friday. Find out how to join the square community here.

Lady Liberty would have really shone when she was being created in France, and probably also when she first arrived in New York. As it wasn’t until the beginning of the 20th century that her copper fully oxidised. Her torch however has always been brighter, and in the 1890s was even a lighthouse. Although not very successfully!
The reason her torch shines bright is partly because it isn’t the original (that is in her lobby) but mainly because it is coated in gold leaf enabling it to shine a little brighter.

This has brought back bright memories, Becky, though she was in a haze too when we passed by.

Think she often is in a haze – the sharpest I have ever seen her is from a place when we were landing in Jersey

Good one Becky. Yes where did the month go? I had to sneak in another one today with a couple of Rolling Stones songs for you to singalong 🙂

A great square – an artistic view of the Lady that I haven’t seen myself. And although I’ve peered at her from land and water I haven’t actually visited.
I have finally got a button shot: https://travelwithintent.com/2021/04/28/bright-as-a-button/

very cool you got a button in 😀
and I was so proud of myself when I spotted this angle! Maybe both of us could meet there and then take a trip to visit her

My bright object is a lot smaller than your giant lady but they’re both giants. The last giant butterfly square for April:

And she could shine a little brighter figuratively, too! For all nations.

Love your photo, everything is very bright, and the plants in the foreground and the glittering sea are in contrasting colors!
Here is mine for today.
What a shame the Square Challenge will be coming to an end soon!

Thank you so much :-), I know can’t quite believe only a couple of days to go. Still July Squares will be here before we know it!
