It was rather misty as we took off but for a few moments we could see the city below us. I didn’t manage to capture any details on my phone, so probably impossible for anyone to recognise where we had just left. However you do get a sense of the plane’s movement and can clearly see how cities light up our world. Not always a good thing, but still a rather fun photograph to share.
By the way I’m away for a few days now, so apologies in advance for any tardy responses to both comments and squares.
That is a beautiful and great picture. I love it!

Ah, the bright lights of the big city. It’s a beautiful sight, but I have to say I’m grateful for how dark it is around here. It means the stars really stand out at night. I hope you’re having a good time while you’re away. Here’s mine today: https://grahamsisland.com/2021/04/24/rudolphs-ride/

like you I’d prefer the dark – where I am at moment is not too bad so can see a few more stars 🙂

It’s an interesting shot, Becky. You are right, I can’t tell where it is, but it looks like a big city. I’m guessing it’s not London, that would be too easy. I’m at the end of my scheduled posts. I’m going to try to keep up. I don’t know how you do it! It must take the entire intervening two months between challenges to get everything done. Whew, It’s a push! Have a fun few days off. 🙂 https://tchistorygal.net/2021/04/24/brightsquare-even-dark-cars-can-be-bright-at-the-2021-prescott-car-show/

hiya you are right not London. It is the second largest city of the country it is in, but compared to other European cities not even in top 90 population size!

Couldn’t live without it these days. Otherwise I wouldn’t have a chance. I’d gloss over so much information reading blogs especially from people around the world. If you have to depend only on personal experiences, you are very limited indeed. If you have to depend on what you read, you are still very limited because we retain so little of what we read. I’ve heard 15%, but I just read on Google it’s 90%. If that’s the case, I need some of what they have. So there you have my vent for the day.

wow 90% I certainly doesn’t retain that – maybe I retain snippets from 90% of what I read though!

I don’t think that statistic is accurate, but then I haven’t tried their miracle product. I could use it though. My memory is augmented constantly by Google, Bing and Vince. 🙂

This picture reminds me of flying into LAX to start my new job at IBM. It was at night and as I looked out the window on approach, this is what I saw as far as I could see. I came from a small Ohio town of about 15,000 people. My thought was, “Country boy, what have you gotten yourself into.” But, it wasn’t all bad. I met my wife of 32 years now.

awww what a memory, and how amazing you met her there as it’s a huge city compared to the tiny one in this square
