It seems decades ago since I was in Hong Kong. Oh hold on, it was almost decades ago. I took these in April 2004, when you might recall we were just getting over the SARs pandemic!

Any market that has flowers is a good market.

Wonderful to see this. I have visited Hong Kong, probably at pretty much the same time, but never got a chance to see the market. I didn’t take pictures then, so I have only memories, but your picture shows me what might have been.
My bright square today may be controversial but, rarely, I feel I ought to state my views. https://susanrushton.net/2021/04/17/the-mersey-ferry-snowdrop-dazzled-by-sir-peter-blake/

I was travelling on my own, and walked everywhere. So I found all sorts of things that I probably would not have if I had been travelling with others

Solo travelling is well worth doing, even if it’s just fly out a few days ahead of others. Or stay on after. I do that with all the group trips I go on, be it work or leisure. And so far the only place I have not liked on my own was Oman. And I know several women who have found Morocco difficult. I am definitely a better explorer when alone. And get to meet more local people.

Exactly! and love your cunning plan of flying our earlier or staying a few days later

I’m sure you did. I’d have loved to back, but now is not the time.

Nothing like a busy market scene to lift the spirits. A nursery rhyme from me today:

Great captures of Hong Kong, Becky. Brings back great memories.
Sadly, I don’t know when I’ll return. And nothing to do with COVID

Thanks Debbie, and likewise on returning. With what is happening is there seems a distant hope to return

How wonderful. It’s hard to imagine being in a bustling, busy market like that these days.

I know, seems very strange that this was once the norm!

Oh I love these photos. Wish I was there but preferably in about 2007 or even 1993. Back to nature for me today https://somerville66.blogspot.com/2021/04/bright-squarechallenge-17.html

I agree, not sure I’d want to visit these days. So glad I got there when I did
