Graham Street Market in Central

It seems decades ago since I was in Hong Kong. Oh hold on, it was almost decades ago. I took these in April 2004, when you might recall we were just getting over the SARs pandemic!

  1. I didn’t even know you’d lived in Hong Kong! How long were you there for? 🙂 🙂 It certainly looks lively and I can see you right at home in the markets there.

    1. Oh I didn’t live there, just stayed for a few days en route to Australia. MrB though has lived here, in fact the youngest was born here 🙂

    1. Oh wow, you were there about the time MrB was living there. Biggest change you’ll notice is the airport. It’s now on a different island!

    2. I went to Hong Kong first in 1967. It was fascinating but there was so much poverty. I returned in 1993 when my husband was working there & absolutely loved it. We’ve been back twice since for lovely holidays, but I am worried about the political situation there now.

      1. I know the situation there is terrifying – now they have created strong alternative financial centres within China itself they are flexing their muscles over Hong Kong. Future is not great 😦

      1. Husband there from 1968 till 2004 and I met him there in 1989 and we emigrated to Australia in 2004. It was the best life, not that I’m complaining now in beautiful Perth. This Essex girl has come a long way 😂

        1. What a great story, and fabulous journey. You left the year I came for a visit, and he definitely overlapped for the short time MrB was living there too.
